Better late than never…
First off, my deepest apologies for such a late announcement, I have been very busy as of late as I took a summer semester of classes and then started the new fall semester about two weeks ago, I’ve been stretched thin.
Secondly, I’m extremely proud to be a part of the penultimate issue of Cirsova Magazine.
Yes, you read that correctly. This Summer Special is Cirsova’s second-to-last issue. I would be remiss if I didn’t wax a little about it.
Cirsova was the first magazine to publish me. They chose Egg, a classic sci-fi yarn that pays homage to the pulpy science fiction of the 50s. In Egg you see one of the tropes I like to dabble in: highly competent characters. I have always been the kind of storyteller who can’t stand stupidity as a character trait. I’ve carried that preference into the other works I’ve published with Cirsova, including Machine Dreams for Wired People, and my latest work.
Some of you might already be familiar with Dr. Amélia Mitre . If not, her first tale, Afflicted: Nourritures les Ver, was published in Anvil Magazine.
Cirsova has taken on her second tale, Afflicted: The Hands of Hanged Men.

When I got burned out on fiction a few years ago, it was the short stories of America’s greatest pulp writers that rekindled my love of fantasy and sci-fi. Cirsova has carried that torch, creating a magazine that is a refuge for those of us who love to read, and write in the tradition of Weird Tales and Thrilling Wonder Stories.
